NASPE/Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs

Physical activity promotion for youth has been identified as a public health and education concern. Recently a Comprehensive School-Based Physical Activity Program (CSPAP) spearheaded by a Director of Physical Activity (DPA) has been advocated. The school physical educator is uniquely positioned to take on the role of DPA. This session will foster discussion among PETE faculty regarding the role of physical educators as the DPA and strategies for preparing pre-service teachers for that position.
