425 Surveillance of Health-Related Fitness with FITNESSGRAM: Challenges and Solutions

The use of FitnessGram assessments by large districts, states and the Presidential Youth Fitness Program has led to considerable interest in large scale fitness tracking in youth. Standardized screening and processing methods are needed to ensure that data can accurately reflect group levels of fitness. This tutorial presentation will summarize issues and considerations involved in interpreting FITNESSGRAM data for longitudinal tracking and public health surveillance. Standardized processing procedures, based on SAS will be demonstrated.
