Motivating students to engage in physical activity is often a struggle in physical education. This session will utilize the acronym P.R.A.I.S.E. to demonstrate theory based practical strategies for motivation. Strategies related to Perceived competence, Relatedness, Autonomy, Individualism, Social Support and Enjoyment will be modeled using real physical education activities. K-12 physical educators will leave this session with field-tested practices for motivating students.
