508 Cardiorespiratory Activities With Purpose: Increasing Motivation and Learning

Replace take a lap with cardiorespiratory fitness activities that can rejuvenate your physical education program and help students enjoy running/cardio. Learn innovative, standards-based cardio-respiratory specific activities that increase heart rate and help develop intrinsic motivation. Three activity formats will be presented; challenge by choice, thematic cardio and run-for-fun activities. Examples include; plyometrics, skill-related fitness, individual and team challenges. Strategies to educate students about heart rate and proper hydration will be included.
