418 Building Strong Community Partnerships to Improve Physical Education Impact

Friday, March 20, 2015: 11:15 AM-12:30 PM
Convention Center: 2A
Physical Education: Curriculum & Administration
Intended Audience: K-12, Post Secondary Instructor/Faculty
Speakers: Nhu V. Nguyen, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Denver, CO; and Susan Barnd, Metropolitan State University of Denver, Denver, CO
The target audience is public/private K-12 and university physical education programs. Programs tend to be compartmentalized at each level (i.e. elementary, middle school, high school and university) with little communication between levels. Presenters will share a model benefiting both K-12 and university physical education programs. Attendees will gain insight in successfully building strong community partnerships with district physical education coordinators and teachers statewide to improve physical education and have a stronger impact at the K-12 and university levels.
