This session will include games and activities played by various Native American tribes in Montana and the northwest region (Salish & Kootenai, Blackfeet, Plains, Gros Ventre and Pend d’Oreille). Games of skill and games of intuition and chance will be featured as well as suggestions on how to craft the pieces used. Games were played for cultural and recreational purposes. Playing with honor, spirit and integrity was as important as winning – if not more so.
