Self-study allows for acquisition and analysis of knowledge providing an understanding of the past leading to a plan for the future. Engaging in self-study ‘allows teacher educators to focus on their own practice and students’ learning while meeting the research expectations of life as an academic’ (Tannehill, 2013). This session will share insights of self-study with three examples provided, a teacher educator’s, a community of teacher educators, and a teacher education program.
