Alcohol and other drug use among adolescent athletes is fairly high, but the problem is complex. School-based prevention and intervention programs designed for athletes have been proven effective in reducing negative consequences.
The Olympia School District Student Assistance Program has successfully provided support and reduced negative consequences resulting from use by athletes. This session will focus on successful techniques and programs to assist directors and coaches in efforts to support healthy athletes.
