The purpose of this presentation is to examine remarks by government officials as those remarks apply to PETE, and discuss ways in which AAHPERD and NASPE can respond to perceived political threats to the profession. Participants will work collaboratively to: (1) provide suggestions for a rapid response plan of action for AAHPERD/NASPE, and (2) brainstorm ways in which PETE faculty can prepare pre-service teachers for blatant challenges to the profession.
