NASPE/Meeting the Needs of Today’s K-12 Students and Schools
Speakers: | Dana Perlman; Greg Forrest; and Kim McKeen, University of Wollongong, Wollongong, Australia |
Students with extremely low levels of motivation (i.e. amotivation) are a popular area of inquiry. Teachers are looking for pedagogical approaches that meet the needs of the amotivated student. A model of instruction that has illustrated initial promise for the low motivated student is Sport Education (Perlman, 2010). Therefore, this presentation will provide research-based findings focused on the process of change illustrated by 33 amotivated students during multiple Sport Education units.
