The quality and quantity of Physical Education and related programs are influenced by policies at multiple levels. Furthermore, effective policy development/change generally requires long-term strategic advocacy. PETE faculty typically do not view such advocacy efforts as a primary responsibility. This session provides a rationale for PETE faculty becoming active players in the process of policy development that directly affect physical education programs, and provides examples of how available evidence can be framed for such purposes.
