PETE faculty increasingly use model-based instruction (MBI) as the basis of pedagogical content knowledge in programs. It is essential that faculty can document their students’ ability to design, implement, and assess MBI in field experiences like student teaching. This session describes a comprehensive assignment that is used to demonstrate effective MBI by student teachers. Performance on this assignment is used as a key component in our evidence base for state and national accreditation reviews.
