Bomba is a defining music dance of the Puerto Rican culture. This percussion-driven traditional dance has been strongly influenced by African and European rooted traditions and has been a source of cultural and identity formation. Participants learn and experience the music and rhythm pattern, as well as the dancing steps and variations of Bomba. In addition, they examine the Puerto Rican and Afro Caribbean cultures that have blended and built this rich folkloric dance.
