Quality control through the utilization of established standards (assessment criteria) will result in an overall improvement of the internship experience for the student, sport organization and university. This will occur more rapidly when sport management educators “… agree on and establish minimum internship criteria for institutions, agencies, and students” (Kelly, 2004, p. 29). This presentation will provide insights into assessing sport management internships including on-site supervisor involvement, rubric development, and student assignments.
