Presenters will discuss unique contributions of health educators in emergency preparation and planning across school, community and health care settings. Advance planning includes: identifying an incident commander; developing a communication plan; recognizing potential hazards and threats of infection; obtaining needed materials and supplies; and recruiting professionals and volunteers for a network of responders. Inclusive preparedness training engages professionals, volunteers and the general public in multi-step exercises requiring active discussion and response coordination.
