The enactment of Title IX required many colleges and universities to renovate their track and field facilities to accommodate men’s and women’s participation. The hammer throw was one of the new events added to the NCAA program for women. This presentation will examine characteristics of track and field hammer throwing facilities at universities in the United States. Learn important principles for design and management of a new or renovated facility to maximize efficiency and safety.
