Achieving proficient levels in fundamental movement skill performance (i.e., throwing, skipping and kicking) during the early primary grades is likely to contribute to increases in habitual and organized physical activity participation, thus preventing unhealthy weight gain among children and adolescents. This session will demonstrate a new approach to conduct real time fundamental movement skill assessment in physical education settings. Audience members will become acquainted with the new method and be exposed to hands-on activities.
