The founders of US Youth Soccer's National Youth Coaching License took a child centered approach to educating soccer coaches in the 1990's. This large-scale coaching education program aimed to unlock the "Game in the Child" (Quinn, 1988) by embracing theory to practice and deliberate practice through developmentally appropriate activities. Recent investigation and evaluation of this L-S program indicates that participants have sustained use of the methodologies taught during the week-long course.
