The purpose of this session is to share with the audience the process used by one institution to reframe and redefine its PETE program. Based on current research, the decision was made to move to a model that promotes more effective and reflective teachers. Competencies for the program were developed based on the Initial Standards for Beginning Teachers (NASPE, 2008). The program is scheduled to begin Fall 2015 with redesigned courses and a full year internship.
