Afterschool programs are leading the charge against childhood obesity by partnering with schools and community groups to provide opportunities for physical activity and wellness education. This workshop will detail the latest policy and research, including the Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) standards and new data on physical activity from the Afterschool Alliance’s America After 3PM Report. The YMCA of the USA will discuss how they are implementing the HEPA standards in their programs nationwide.
