Orienteering is a popular outdoor education activity for middle-high school programs. However, it is not as common for younger children. String orienteering provides a way to introduce orienteering to a younger audience. This session will introduce string orienteering and how it can be taught effectively in physical education. A discussion will impart the benefits of the activity, suitable age groups, implementation and assessment strategies. Subsequently, participants will experience a string orienteering course first hand.
