321 Improve Your Teaching Through Cultural Awareness and Connection

This session focuses on how knowledge of one’s own culture and the culture of students can improve the teaching-learning process. Future physical education teachers will perform a cultural self-mapping, examine how their cultural-self may influence their teaching, and identify ways to improve themselves as teachers. Participants will also practice how to connect physical education content to the cultural backgrounds of students to improve engagement and achievement.
