In a recent Cornell Study (News Medical, 2014), “Children at schools with gardens were more active than their counterparts.” This session will explore the benefits of school/youth gardens and how to start your own. Speakers will address best practices and challenges from their personal experiences with five local youth and community gardens. Participants will leave with ideas for integrating physical activity with gardening and to provide unique opportunities for multidisciplinary lessons.
