Writing Research Grants: Strategies for Success |
The session will be lead by renowned researcher, Barbara E. Ainsworth, former Chair of the Research Consortium Grant Committee. The session will provide an overview of some of the key strategies for success in grant writing as well as pointers on identifying potential funding sources. Discussion will include tips on what experienced grant reviewers look for in proposals; suggestions on how to concisely state your project’s goals and objectives; tips on letters of support and other supporting documents; as well as other key information to be sure to include in your proposal to enhance its chances of success. The session will also provide an overview of the Research Consortium grant application and review process, as well as information on the four types of grants which the Research Consortium awards: Established Investigator, Collaborative Research, Seed Grants and Applied Research Demonstration Grants. There will also be ample opportunity to benefit from Dr. Ainsworth’s expertise through an informal question and answer period. |
