Teaching Dual Courses in Physical Education/Kinesiology: Issues and Practical Strategies for Success |
Increasingly in Departments of Kinesiology and Physical Education, courses are being offered that combine two subdisciplinary areas. This happens almost exclusively in the humanities and social sciences. The two most common combinations are History-Philosophy and Sociology-Psychology. This session will address:
1. Current trends that have led to these types of courses
2. Issues pertaining to training specialized doctoral students to teach these types of courses.
3. Strategies for structuring these types of courses.
4. Problems and pitfalls with these dual courses
5. Pedagogical ideas for courses of this nature. |
