Research into Action for Teachers and Coaches Seeking Instructional Accountability: Practical Application of the Self-Assessment Feedback Instrument |
This presentation will demonstrate how practical application of the Self-Assessment Feedback Instrument can (a) enhance the quality of teachers' and coaches' instruction, (b) facilitate the process of becoming more aware of and accountable for that instruction to supervisors and oneself, and (c) promote the development of reflective practices consistent with the national and state standards by which teachers and coaches are evaluated. Action research featuring the SAFI will be presented. Participants will practice coding with the SAFI while viewing videotape of actual physical education teachers and coaches in action. Recommendations for personal applications of the SAFI will be provided. |
