Promoting Physical Activity Beyond the Classroom |
Preparation for a lifetime physical activity is a goal of physical education. But even if physical education classes were available on a daily basis, we would not be teaching individuals how to be physically active. Most people know how important physical activity is and how to become physically fit but they still do not do anything. This session will provide ideas for teaching individuals how to overcome barriers to physical activity by working with the transtheoretical model and providing teaching strategies to implement the model. Ideas which empower individuals to be active participants in the model will be presented. |
