Why Is There Less Attention on Interscholastic Sport Sponsorships |
Sponsorship is a not new idea for interscholastic sports. State associations began actively developing corporate sponsorships for both television and radio coverage of state football and basketball tournaments in the early 1970’s.
The author’s investigation of seven academic journals revealed that less than 1% of articles written on sport sponsorships, focused on interscholastic sports. Given the vast amount of research that has focused on sport sponsorships, the author poses the question: Why Is There Less Attention on Interscholastic Sport Sponsorships?
High schools and school districts are finding it necessary to develop comprehensive business partnerships with companies in their local communities. |
