Cues and Feedback for Teaching Critical Elements of Motor Skills |
When teaching fundamental motor skills the process of performance should be emphasized over the product of performance. Students often look at whether or not a target was hit or a goal made rather than whether the skill was performed correctly. By explicitly teaching the critical elements, students can learn to analyze their own skill as well as skills of peers. Learn and participate in activities to teach the critical elements while providing age-appropriate cues and specific feedback to students. |
