This presentation will offer the results of a series of four workshops that focused on improving collaboration between supervising practitioners and college supervisors. Fifteen supervising practitioners took part in activities that; a) clarified the role and responsibility of the supervising practitioner and college supervisor, (b) provided training in the use of formal, informal and systematic observation instruments, (c) established the importance of modeling by the supervising practitioner on the positive outcome of the prepracticum and practicum, and (d) explored patterning the supervising practitioner’s curriculum with the physical education teacher preparation program that sponsored the workshop series. |
