Survivor |
This session identifies the pathways and strategies physical education teachers use to survive and thrive in the profession. A drama portrays the careers of three beginning physical education teachers and follows them through various stages of their careers. Each teacher's development is traced from an induction phase to a consolidation phase to a mastery phase. In the scenarios, the three teachers will respond in different ways to the socialization and professional development process. The drama is followed by an interactive discussion with the audience on the various stages of professional development for teachers, strategies for survival and pitfalls to avoid. |
