Challenges in Sport Management Internship Supervision |
The importance of the internship in the development of sport management students has been well documented in the literature. Yet there are often many challenges the sport management supervisor must deal with to provide a successful internship experience. Some of the challenges include, but are not limited to; the advisor not receiving credit for supervision of the students; potential legal issues; rigor of graduate/undergraduate internships; or inadequate on-site supervisory capabilities of the intern. The purpose of this interactive presentation is to identify ways internship advisors can successfully use to deal with these as well as other challenges. |
