The Changing Face of Elementary School: Childhood Obesity |
This half day indepth focuses on the epidemic of childhood obesity - the what, the why, and "best practices" to combat obesity in children by elementary physical educators. Physical activity, nutrition, and family education will be addressed along with the sharing of best practices. An expert panel will address the topics atlernating between theory and practice including active participation and round table discussions.
1) Participants will gain knowledge about childhood obesity.
2) Participants will receive hands-on activities that they can incorporate into their class lessons.
3) Participants will learn how Pedometers can help students to increase their activity time during class. |
