NASPE/Collegiality and Collaboration in PETE

To present how a community engagement project was designed and implemented between a state university and urban high school. The program is a collaborative effort using pre-professional university students to instruct and interact with urban youth to develop socio-cultural competence for all participants and leaders. The focus is on changing attitudes and behavior patterns concerning physical activity and nutrition of urban youth. Preliminary findings and best practice strategies will be shared.
