0 Unforeseen Expectations of a PETE Faculty Member

Friday, October 5, 2012: 10:30 AM-11:20 AM
Planet Hollywood: Santa Monica 2
NASPE/Collegiality and Collaboration in PETE
Speakers: Ann-Catherine Sullivan, Otterbein University, Westerville, OH; Julienne Maeda, University of Hawaii - Manoa, Honolulu, HI; and Lynn Randall, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, NB, Canada
This session will provide insight into the unforeseen roles and duties of PETE faculty members. Similar to public school induction, parallel practices occur at the post-secondary level. Whether it means perpetuating a rite of passage practice “you need to do this because I did when I was new” or instituting practices employed for new teachers, this discussion needs to occur to retain and nurture new faculty growth; to continue being productive and involved tenured faculty.
