Engaged students experience better outcomes such as earning higher grades, reporting a greater sense of belonging, being able to set and meet personal goals, and showing more persistence on tasks. Unfortunately, many secondary health teachers are seeing class sizes increase, making it difficult to keep all students actively engaged in the lesson. The purpose of this session is to describe innovative teaching strategies that promote active learning in large secondary health classrooms. (CEU) (CHES)
