In Virginia, 40% of teacher performance appraisal is based on student achievement. To be successful, it is necessary to have well thought out and documented goals. This session will provide both objective and subjective measures of student achievement. Portfolios are used as an assessment tool for students’ self-evaluation of achievement and performance. This reflective process empowered students to take ownership of their learning experience. (CEU)
