The 2012 Olympic Games witnessed many firsts, including female representation from every country. Of particular interest, the United States had more female athletes participate than males for the first time. Even with this notable progress, many international women are banned from or have limited opportunities to sport. This session will highlight the progress, identify mechanisms of progress, and organizations that can suggest ways for positive change.
