In general, physical activity subsides for females after high school (Han et al., 2008). Researchers have found that this group experiences unique barriers in relation to remaining active during their college years (Salvatore & Marecek, 2010). This presentation will provide college/university level instructors of physical education courses an overview of these barriers and offer practical examples of women’s specific physical education courses that can help this group sustain motivation for physical activity.
