Middle school students are prime candidates for outdoor education activities. Archery, fishing, kayaking, orienteering, geo-caching, backpacking, and outdoor cooking are all elements of a 9-week outdoor education unit taught by the speaker to 6th graders. Learn how to identify resources and teaching tools and to modify activities to make this an exciting developmentally appropriate unit for your middle school program.
