The session presents the benefits, challenges, and logistics of internationalizing an academic program. The session will: discuss our department’s strategic objectives (internationalization, civic engagement, and service learning); describe our 3-week study abroad program (our research, what we did, how we did it, challenges/benefits); conclude with the perspective and experiences of a Brazilian student currently enrolled in our doctoral program. We hope to provide practical advice on the development of similar programs in other schools.
