Students select Kinesiology majors because they are passionate and curious about sports or human movement. Many majors, however, lose this interest and struggle with learning important scientific laws and concepts important to professional practice. This presentation summarizes what we know about the factors related to students learning biomechanical concepts. The scholarship of teaching and learning in biomechanics and physics provides a picture of how the sport sciences might be better taught to improve student learning.
