Double Jeopardy is a concept that was coined by Frances Beale (1972) and refers to the potential for double discrimination or struggle for those who are not only girls/women, but who are also a minority race, poor, disabled, or homosexual. To help dissipate the effects of double jeopardy, educators will discuss research and ways to open the doors of sport/physical activity for populations who have faced closed doors in the past.
