Media coverage of female Olympians is important in shaping how people see the accomplishments of female athletes. During the Olympics is one of the few times female athletes get regular newspaper, web, and televised coverage. Researchers will share results from a study of newspaper coverage of Lindsey Vonn during the 2010 Winter Olympics. This session will encourage participants to push for positive media coverage of girls and women in their schools and communities.
