In her lecture “Dancing in Place: Site-Specific Work,” Scholar/Artist Josie Metal-Corbin chronicles four decades working with artists, educators, librarians and scientists. From zoos to deep in prairie grass, her approaches for site-specific choreography are generated through research, interpretation, spatial characteristics and cultural aspects of the venue. Convergence of dancers with community members is integral to the “dancing in place.” Immediately following will be the General Assembly, which includes an awards ceremony and election of officers.
