Motor development is an important aspect of neural processing and the development of thinking and reasoning skills. Giving children regular opportunities to engage in purposeful movement helps them on many levels. Participants will leave with research-based, field-tested activities to help incorporate fun and meaningful movement into their existing curriculum using a “Look-Move-Build-Sketch” process. They will also learn evidence-based guiding principles for creating nature-rich outdoor spaces, which are shown to support children’s physical, mental, and emotional development.
