In many communities, after-school programs are leading the charge against childhood obesity by partnering with schools and community groups to provide opportunities for physical activity and wellness education. This workshop will detail the latest after-school policy, research, promising practices, and the national after-school nutrition/physical activity standards. The founder of the nationally recognized after-school fitness program, A World Fit for Kids!, will offer a case study and discuss how and why its model is so effective.
