This session provides background and tools to improve the health literacy skills of both the public and health professionals and will address the recommendations of the 2010 National Action Plan to Improve Health Literacy. This presentation will also address the use of mobile media technology (i.e., smartphones and Tablet PC’s) to promote health literacy. A review of the availability of health/fitness mobile applications will be provided along with a discussion of future implications and trends.
