Clients who struggle in standard behavioral weight management programs may benefit from a closer look at underlying issues impeding progress. Barrier weight should be ruled out, along with other potential obstacles. Barrier weight is a real or imagined weight that serves as an adaptive function for some clients. This session explores the development of an educational module with an activity to address barrier weight with clients individually or in group settings.
