Convention Center: Room 23ABC
NASPE/Sport Management/Administration
Speaker: Carol M. Biddington, California University of Pennsylvania, California, PA
The purpose of this session is to explain a group inquiry project whereby sport management students inquired into the mass media to find how cultural diversity was portrayed in sport media, and specifically the quantity and quality of representation of minority groups. This project helped students use inquiry to deepen their own understanding of sociocultural foundations, and particularly the various forms of institutional discrimination. Students' findings will be presented.
